Nicework is looking for a mid-level designer to join our team. This role involves delivering world-class, conceptual design to a variety of clients. You will need to show up with your brain and your creativity
We own some of our own brands and work on clients that occupy incredibly, interesting spaces in the Metaverse. You will be expected to work hard (and currently remote), drink tea, probably over-indulge on some snacks and have fun
The details
You are:
Able to think for yourself and can function with ambiguity
Happy to take a project from brief, to concept, to presentation to client
Keen to learn from people who have seen and done a bunch
Ok with being a team player
Capable of surviving periods of high pressure without melting down
In possession of an attitude that is positive and proactive
Proud of your talent and willing to apply it
Have worked for 3 years or more (Or are a savant)
Insatiably curious
In possession of at least a bachelor's degree in design (unless your design is beyond comparison, in which case we can talk about it)
Your primary responsibilities:
Development of creative treatments and strategy
Development of logos and visual identity systems
General graphic design, layout and typography
Putting together compelling presentations of your design and strategic thinking
Client interactions, face to face, written and by telephone
Pitching for new work
Participating in project management
Contribution to Nicework marketing in the form of content development, the blog and social media platforms
Secondary duties:
Guiding interns and external resources
Working with teammates both internal and external
Proactively identifying revenue opportunities
A high level of self quality control
Other duties as defined by management
Bonus points:
Can code or has experience in Squarespace, WordPress etc...
Can write
Can do basic video editing
Understands animation and broadcast design
Own large tracts of land we can vacation to
Functional competencies:
Strong time-management and organisational skills
Strong written and verbal communication
You can use Creative Suite as well as your toothbrush
Ability to meet tight deadlines and turn-around
Be aware:
Sometimes the hours are long but not ‘long’ like most other agencies where they like to squeeze all the creative life from you. Just that, occasionally, you’ll need to put in some extra hours.
