How to earn and own more by sharing more
In Episode #78, Ross is joined by Jakub Rusiecki, Co-Founder of The Symmetrical DAO and Summoner at Social Graph Ventures.
Jakub started his career in biochemistry but switched gears in 2021 to focus on the cryptocurrency and blockchain space. He co-founded The Symmetrical, an investment DAO aimed at Gen Z, which has quickly grown to over 60 members worldwide. Jakub is currently the summoner for Social Graph Ventures, a DAO that invests in projects building the technology and apps powering decentralized social networks and communities.
Ross and Jakub discuss the issues web3 social media platforms face in terms of UX and UI, the investment opportunity in media NFTs, why you should let people AI-replicate and use your identity and much more.
Highlights
Imagine if you could integrate a Lens social graph and be able to see what your friends are participating in? You could go on Aave and you see where they’re borrowed from and where they’re providing liquidity. I think that would make it much more multiplayer
I think when these experiences start to mirror the quality and level of UI/UX that people are used to, it's going to explode because there's this innovation and if you mirror that with the old standards you get to a really compelling use case for the technology
if you give your voice and allow people to use, you're making yourself a platform for others to build on and I think that's a very powerful position to be in
You talk about the fact that the record labels are the ones that are resisting; we've already proved that this is a great way for people to disintermediate
"What do you do to stay in the space or get a job at some point in crypto?". One of the recurring themes, in these random articles that I read, was to join a DAO and start contributing
How can you keep a community entertained about on-chain investments when everything is just absolutely tanking? That was the very initial idea of how the Symmetrical DAO was started
